Event:  2018 Shannons Melbourne Winter Classic Auction

Date:  Monday 16th July 2018 @ 7pm

Location:  40 Corporate Drive, Heatherton, Victoria

11 Victorian heritage number plates and 3 Victorian Bicentennial number plates were offered at this auction and as usual all plates sold under the hammer.

153 was the lowest heritage plate on offer and was tipped to sell for in excess of $300,000.00.  We ran our usual competitions across our social media accounts to guess the sale price and the vast majority of estimates were in excess of $350,000.00.  It was a slightly disappointing result when the hammer fell on the 5th and winning bid of $240,000.00.

All other 3-digit heritage number plates sold for between $155,000.00 and $165,000.00, showing that overall the market is still strong with an approximate 20% increase on prices achieved at the Autumn Classic Auction held in April 2018.

A total of $1,351,000.00 of plates were sold on the night.
