Thirteen Victorian heritage plates were offered at this auction, with the highlight of the night being the 2-digit plate 21 which sold for $530,000.

The previous record for a Victorian heritage plate auctioned by Shannons was $322,000 for 47 back in 2007.

2016 Shannons Melbourne Winter Classic Auction Guide

Thirteen Victorian heritage plates will be offered at this auction, but all eyes will be on Vic 21.

21 is the lowest Victorian plate ever to be auctioned by Shannons, and is expected to comfortably beat the previous record held by 47 which sold for $322,000 almost a decade ago in 2007.

Aside from the very special 2-digit plate, there are also four 3-digit plates, five 4-digit plates and three 5-digit plates to be offered.

The plates to be offered and their price guides are detailed below:

2 digit:

  • 21 – $500k – $550k

3 digit:

  • 448 – $40k – $55k
  • 590 – $40k – $55k
  • 671 – $40k – $55k
  • 802 – $40k – $55k

4 digit:

  • 1312 – $14k – $18k
  • 1815 – $10k – $15k (bicentennial plate)
  • 2266 – $14k – $18k
  • 3801 – $14k – $18k
  • 8844 – $14k – $18k

5 digit:

  • 11666 – $10k – $15k (no reserve)
  • 86686 – $10k – $15k (no reserve)
  • 93960 – $10k – $15k (no reserve)
