Thanks for stopping by and checking out the numberplates.com.au (np) forum.
My name is Steven, I’m from Sydney and I’m the owner / administrator of np. I’m a heritage plate collector and custom plate fan. I got my first set of custom plates around 20 years ago and I’ve had many different custom and heritage plates over the years.
It’s my hope that we can build up this community of number plate fans and create a knowledge base of useful information and photos of great plates. That’s why we are giving away an brand new iPhone to encourage people to participate.
The forum is a work in progress and I truly hope you will join in and share your thoughts, questions, comments, pictures and plate enthusiasm.
So why don’t you break the ice and get involved? Just reply to this post and tell us a little about yourself.
Looking forward to meeting you 🙂

I came across Number Plates Australia facebook page a couple of months ago and have since changed my setting to see posts from you first!
My favourite plates are the funny, creative ones and I always find myself tagging my sister in the comments!
I’ve just bought myself a Polo GTI and if anyone can think of clever plates for this please let me know!! 🙂August 13, 2018 at 12:41 am #21462
I’ve got a golf gti and I have MYGTI which is pretty cool. Another one could be VDUB? OR ELSGTI maybeAugust 13, 2018 at 4:59 am #21468

Its nice to see a website dedicated to this! I’d like to welcome myself from Tasmania, the best state 😛 (unless you like nice cars, they don’t really exist down here haha). I hope Tasmania gets more heritage plates going around, but for now I don’t think we’ve caught the trend yet.
Let me introduce myself! I own a 2008 Alfa Romeo Spider V6 in Misano blue (tried to link an image but I don’t think it worked), and have a few exams on this week :(. Wish me luck.
Hope you manage to build up the forum and get it more active! It would be great to see. Also, I like your PR stunt idea of a giveaway, hope I have an entry 😛

Hi Steven and everyone,
My name is Craig and I bought my first personalised plate back in 1989 and my first Q plate in 1997. I find that it’s easier to buy plates than it is to sell them, so the collection continues to grow…
Here’s a shot of the Q plate a couple of years ago when the Cobra Club got involved in the ticker tape parade for the Queensland Firebirds when they won the championship.
I’m looking forward to seeing more introductions so I can how everyone else started their addiction with number plates!

G’day Steven and all
Congratulations on the site. I’m Kay, love creating ideas and spotting custom plates on the road. The wifey and I always have a laugh when we try making a random plates meaningful haha. Always looked for a site like this. Pretty cool site. I have 2 plates myself “OUT84K” that was on my previous fully equipped Hilux and recently got “NXTLVL” as I had plans to customize a 4wd to the next level or maybe some business ambitions with title “NEXT LEVEL” at the beginning.August 16, 2018 at 3:49 am #21529

James here. I live in Sydney and got into heritage plates after number 4 sold last year for almost $2.5 million and it was all over the news.
I haven’t got one yet but I’m looking for one that I can afford! lol I’ve got heaps of pictures I’ve taken around the city and Edgecliff. I’ll put some up soon.
Thanks for a great site!August 17, 2018 at 11:57 am #21554
Good luck with the site Steven !August 19, 2018 at 5:03 am #21567
Scotty here, I own a BMW 320D with custom plate JEDIMASTR. Have always wanted to get a custom plate but couldn’t really come up with any ideas for one. After buying my BMW I thought about BEEMMEUP (as in beemer & beam me up Scotty) however after the release of the new round of Star Wars movies and being a Star Wars fan I couldn’t help but get JEDIMASTR. I love it anyway.
