Invest in a piece of South Australian history when 60 South Australian numeric plates go up for auction at the 2008 Adelaide Motor Show.

Numeric number plates includes South Australia’s original number plates issued from 1906 to 1966 from the number 1 – 599 999 and the additional series 600 000 – 999 999.

Registrations
You will need to register your place to attend the auction. Online registrations at Evans Clarke National close 12 noon Friday 4th April 2008. Registrations will also be accepted from 12.30 – 1.30 pm on Sunday 6th April 2008 in the Royal Banquet room.

Number Plate Specifications

Plates are the same size front and rear and will be issued at auction in the following sizes:

  • Up to 3 digits (190 x 134mm)
  • 4 digits (315 x 134mm)
  • 5 – 6 digits (371 x 134mm)

Alternative sizes can be ordered (after auction) at an additional cost.

Plates will be issued with Class Specific Rights at auction for motor vehicles only (refer to DTEI Number Plate Agreement and Evans Clarke National Conditions of Auction Sale).

Class Specific Rights – Issued when Numeric number plates are sold by nominated fee or auction. Allows the holder to re-allocate the number plate to another vehicle registered in the same name. Number plates may be sold and transferred to another individual upon payment of a transfer fee.

Class Specific Rights numeric number plates are only available by public auction from 1 January 2008. Register your interest (PDF) in future Numeric plate auctions or specific numeric numbers.

Plates issued prior to January 1st 2008

Restricted Rights – To be eligible to apply for Restricted Rights, the numeric number plate must be the last number allocated to the vehicle and the owner is the last registered owner/operator of the vehicle. Restricted Rights may be granted to a new owner at the discretion of the Registrar where special circumstances apply i.e. to the beneficiary of a deceased estate. Once the vehicle is transferred to a new owner, the restricted rights are lost.
