Event: 2017 Shannons Melbourne Late Summer Classic Auction

Eleven Victorian heritage plates were offered at this auction, with all selling under the hammer on the night.
The 3-digit results were strong, with all plates besides 419 achieving prices of $70,000 or more. The poor result for 419 was likely due to the leading 4. It must be said though, that $60,000 is still a great price for this plate considering prices just a year or two ago.
The 4-digit prices were all very strong, in particular 1177 which reached $45,000.
3 digit:

- 671 – $72,000 (32 bids)
- 897 – $70,000 (24 bids)
4 digit:
- 1177 – $45,000 (24 bids)

5 digit:

There a no real standouts in the 3-digit range, but 2221 is quite nice for a 4-digit.
